MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — It looks like another chapter of Bob Huggins’ time in Morgantown could potentially be coming to an end.
The longtime Morgantown home of the legendary former West Virginia basketball coach has officially hit the market, with an asking price of $2.195 million. The home, located at 555 Burroughs Street, has been associated with Huggins throughout much of his time at WVU and is now up for sale.
There has been some talk that Huggins could eventually be relocating back to Ohio, potentially somewhere in the Cincinnati area, but nothing has been confirmed at this point. Huggins obviously has deep ties to Ohio, particularly Cincinnati, where he spent 16 seasons as the head coach of the Bearcats before eventually making his way home to West Virginia.
Whether the sale of the Morgantown home signals a permanent move remains to be seen, but the property itself is certainly impressive.

Built in 2009, the home sits on 1.19 acres and features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and more than 8,800 square feet of living space. The property includes a three-car garage, three fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, a wet bar, an outdoor kitchen and a large deck. More than 4,400 square feet of the home is located on the lower level, while the main level includes a large kitchen, dining room and living room.
The listing describes the property as a custom-built home designed with entertaining in mind, which probably won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone familiar with Huggins and the number of people he has gotten to know during his decades in basketball.
Huggins’ connection to Morgantown goes back much further than his coaching career. A Morgantown native and WVU graduate, he played for the Mountaineers in the 1970s before eventually returning to take over the basketball program in 2007. Over the next 16 seasons, Huggins became one of the most recognizable figures in the state, leading WVU to 345 victories, 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2010 Final Four.
His tenure came to a controversial end in 2023, but Huggins has remained closely connected to West Virginia and has continued to make appearances around the state in the years since.
Now, one of the more recognizable pieces of his life in Morgantown is officially on the market.
The property was listed on August 28 for $2,195,000, or approximately $249 per square foot. Whether Huggins is preparing to leave Morgantown for Ohio or simply selling the home remains unknown, but seeing his longtime Morgantown residence hit the market will certainly get the attention of Mountaineer fans.
