WVU Falls to Texas Tech

MORGANTOWN, WV – On the last regular season Saturday in Morgantown, the West Virginia Mountaineers fell to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 81-70. After leading by six at the intermission, WVU was outscored 42-25 in the second half en route to their 20th loss of the season.

Despite the loss in the column, the Mountaineers put up a solid fight against the Red Raiders. Led by yet another incredible effort by Jesse Edwards, finishing with 17 points and 8 rebounds, Josh Eilert’s squad fought until the very end.

This effort was indicative of how the season has gone for the Mountaineers. The effort was there, but the final box score simply did not go their way.

WVU returns home for Senior Day on Wednesday to face off against TCU. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
