WVU Favorites Over Maryland in Season Opener

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers will open their season on the road against the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday, September 4 at 3:30 on ESPN.

Maryland finished the 2020-2021 season last year with a 2-3 overall record and four of their games cancelled due to COVID.

West Virginia, on the other hand, went 6-4 overall and 4-4 in the Big 12 Conference with 24-21 win over Army in the Liberty Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

In the opener for both teams on September 4th, the Mountaineers are currently favored by -3.5 points on the road by several online betting websites.

Although the game is a little less than 2 months away, it’s great to see the Mountaineers getting early respect on the road against a traditionally quality opponent and rival.

Following the opener at Maryland, West Virginia will return home for a tune-up against Long Island University on Saturday, September 11th and then a huge home game against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday, September 18th.

Let’s Go Mountaineers!
