The Mountaineers are expected to be one of the worst teams in the Big 12, per On3.
Morgantown, WV – We are closing in on the 2023-24 Men’s Basketball season in Morgantown. West Virginia, who was eliminated during the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, has undergone a plethora of change since the conclusion of last season.
Gone is Hall of Fame Coach Bob Huggins. Josh Eilert, who has been on WVU’s coaching staff since 2007, will serve as the interim head coach for the year. The roster has also been through a major overhaul, welcoming several newcomers from across the nation via the transfer portal.
This has been the perfect combination for outlets to have a negative outlook on WVU’s team and season.
According to On3, the Mountaineers are ranked 13th in their power rankings going into 2023-24. This is good enough for next to last, only above newcomer UCF.
