WVU Flips Wake Forest Commit

Morgantown, WV – Neal Brown and the Mountaineers have been hot on the recruiting trail. After committing to Wake Forest on April 13th, Meriq Tallory, a 247Sports three-star receiver from Cheshire, Connecticut, is expected to commit to the Mountaineers, according to multiple sources.

National recruiting analyst Brian Dohn switched his “crystal ball” for Mallory from Wake Forest to West Virginia earlier today, and Dohn is 92.33% all-time (903/978) with his recruiting predictions. In addition, social media account “247 Collective” announced that Mallory to West Virginia is all but official at this point.

Mallory is currently rated the 144th over receiver and the 9th overall prospect from the state of Connecticut, per 247Sports. He holds offers from many FBS programs – Maryland, Duke, and UMass among others. Mallory is currently visiting West Virginia University on an official visit and has clearly been persuaded to make the move to Morgantown.

Standing at 6’5” and weighing 190, Mallory has the perfect frame to be a productive receiver in the Big 12. In addition to Mallory, the Mountaineers are expected to add several other recruits during this big-time recruiting weekend.
