WVU holds in latest tourney projection despite OU loss

West Virginia is in the midst of an awful 1-6 stretch. But despite the free fall, the Mountaineers remain solidly in the NCAA Tournament field according the latest projections.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi still has West Virginia as a No. 7 seed in his latest Bracketology projection. Lunardi has the Mountaineers as the seventh seed in the South Region. He has WVU opening the tournament against 10th seeded Northern Iowa in the Greensboro, N.C., pod. CBS Sports Jerry Palm as the Mountaineers as a six seed in the South Region in his latest projections. CBS has WVU playing UCLA (11) in the St. Louis pod to open the tournament. NBC Sports also has WVU on the six-seed line. NBC projections West Virginia as the six seed in the East Region. NBC has the Mountaineers playing in the Albany, N.Y., pod and opening against East Tennessee State (11).
