Pat Forde, a sports journalist for Sports Illustrated, recently revealed his “way-too-early top 25” for the 2021 College Football season.
The annual stab at how next season will play out. Conference breakdown: SEC 5, B1G 5, Big 12 4, ACC 3, Pac-12 3, AAC 1, Sun Belt 1, MAC 1, MEC 1, Independent 1. Fire away. https://t.co/J36G75oqmX

Included in his top 25 were four Big 12 teams, one of which were the West Virginia Mountaineers coming in at 23rd.
Forde was high on the returning experience for the Mountaineers, pointing out the “abundance of returning experience on offense,” and “7 of the top 10 tacklers on defense” being underclassmen.
Behind Iowa State and Oklahoma, Forde also believes there will be some opportunity for WVU to move up due to the conference being in “flux.”
Neal Brown has slowly built back the Mountaineer Football program, and it appears the attention is finally beginning to come.
West Virginia opens the 2021 season at Maryland on September 4th.
