WVU Lands Quarterback in Portal

Morgantown, WV – After losing Sean Boyle to the NCAA Transfer Portal, Neal Brown and the Mountaineers have added a piece to the quarterback room for the 2023 season.

Ryder Burton, a transfer signal-caller from BYU, has committed to the Mountaineers via social media.

Burton was a three-star 2023 prospect, per 247Sports. He did not take a snap during the 2023 season and ultimately redshirted. The Utah native will have four seasons of eligibility remaining.

After Boyle’s departure, it was speculated that WVU would add a quarterback through the portal for depth. The Mountaineers now have their answer if both of their top two signal-callers go down.
