Following a miserable 2022 season for West Virginia’s secondary, it was expected that the Mountaineers would look to the transfer portal for help. Earlier this morning, Jordan Lesley and the defense locked down some help in the form of Keyshawn Cobb.

Cobb is a former safety for the Buffalo Bulls of the Mid-American Conference. The Atlanta, Georgia native played one season for the Bulls following two seasons at Northeast Mississippi Community College.

He tallied 67 tackles (36 solo, 31 assisted), 1.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception returned for a touchdown during the 2022 season.

Expect Cobb to contribute immediately in a secondary that was one of the Big 12’s worst last season.
