Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers have been very active in the transfer portal, reaching out to virtually every major player that has entered since the season ended.

Yesterday, former Oklahoma State star center Moussa Cisse announced that he was entering the portal and West Virginia instantly put the full court press on for him.

Cisse, a 7’1 junior from Guinea, is a former five star prospect and shared the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player award with West Virginia’s Gabe Osabuohien during the 2021-2022 season.

Since entering the portal, several West Virginia players and members of the coaching staff have followed him on social media and it appears that he has become a real priority for the Mountaineers.

Last season, Cisse was hampered with an ankle injury, but still managed to average 6.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.9 blocks a game. With James Okonkwo and Mohamed Wague expected to return, and with Jimmy Bell questionable, Cisse would be the perfect addition to West Virginia’s young front court.
