WVU Ranked 2nd in Current Big 12 2025 Recruiting Rankings

Morgantown, WV – Neal Brown and his coaching staff have been hard at work preparing for the future. After putting together what is shaping up to be a strong 2024 class, early signs are indicating that the 2025 class could be among the strongest in program history.

According to 247Sports, the Mountaineers currently possess the 2nd overall recruiting class in the Big 12 for 2025, behind only TCU.

Calder Schecterson of the Schec Sports Podcast shared the rankings on X.

Considering that the Mountaineer Football program was on the verge of utter collapse heading into 2023, this turnaround orchestrated by Neal Brown has been nothing short of spectacular. WVU is coming off of their best season under Brown, and is currently projected to be among the best teams in the Big 12 in 2024.

If the trajectory can continue to point upward, and the Mountaineers have a successful 2024 season, the talent returning and the incoming recruits could form a team that can contend for the College Football Playoff for the foreseeable me future.

There will be many pieces that still have to fall into place, such as avoiding losses to the transfer portal. However, with the culture in Morgantown finally proving to be fixed, it should be expected that attrition will not be a gleaming issue as it has been.
