Morgantown, WV – After dropping their first game of the season on Saturday afternoon, the West Virginia University Baseball team rebounded with an impressive 14-7 victory over Kennesaw State on Sunday.

The Mountaineers got off to a slow start defensively, giving up 3-runs during the top of the 1st inning. However, things would quickly get back on track as WVU answered with 4 runs of their own during the bottom half of the inning. This was a lead that the Mountaineers would never relinquish.

West Virginia officially put the game out of reach during the 8th inning, which saw them tag on 5 runs. Both Sam White and Brodie Kresser both tallied a home run on the afternoon, finishing with 3 and 4 RBIs, respectively.

West Virginia, now 14-1 on the season, returns home on Tuesday for a matchup with the Towson Tigers. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
