WVU (9-1) is ranked 25th in the latest AP writers poll, the first time this season the Mountaineers have appeared in the poll.
WVU scored a pair of blowout wins this week, beating Austin Peay (84-53) and Nicholls State (83-57).
West Virginia is one of four Big 12 teams in this week’s poll, including new No. 1 Kansas.
The Mountaineers are in action Saturday when they travel to Youngstown State.
