MORGANTOWN, WV – Earlier this evening, Neal Brown and the Mountaineers landed a commitment from Morgantown native Andrew Phares, via X.

A member of the class of 2024, Phares split time at both receiver and cornerback during his career. He will be yet another in-state walk-on, joining the likes of Hudson Clement and Preston Fox.
Phares garnered a plethora of attention from teams within the Mountain East Conference – a Division II Conference that contains multiple universities within West Virginia. Among the teams that extended Phares an offer were Frostburg State, Fairmont State, and University of Charleston. VMI (Virginia Military Institute) of the FCS ranks also extended him an invite.
