Morgantown, WV – Rich Rodriguez and the West Virginia Mountaineers are hard at work at putting a roster together for the 2025 season. After cutting upwards of 30 players following spring practice, the program is looking to add much needed depth at multiple positions.

Earlier this evening, the Mountaineers secured what could easily be their best commitment to this point in the spring portal window.

Eddie Kelly, a defensive end out of the University of Missouri, announced his commitment to WVU via X.

Kelly, who is a former 247Sports three-star prospect, has spent time with three programs during his college career. Before arriving in Missouri for the 2024 season, the Florida native spent time with the University of South Florida, as well as Georgia Tech.

Throughout his career, Kelly has accumulated 77 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. Standing at 6’4” and weighing 278 pounds, he could potentially challenge for playing time right out of the gates at West Virginia.

Kelly will have one season of eligibility remaining.
