WVU Should Have Revenge in Their Hearts Against Iowa State

October 13, 2018 is not a day that many Mountaineer fans want to remember. The Old Gold and Blue rolled into Ames, Iowa as one of the hottest teams in the nation. Sitting at 5-0, the Mountaineers were in the driver’s seat to make a Big 12 Championship Game appearance. However, the Iowa State Cyclones had other plans.

West Virginia would lose in blowout fashion that night, 30-14, and would put forth their worst offensive effort in recent memory with only 152 total yards. This loss did not completely take the wind out of West Virginia’s sails, but it certainly contributed to what would ultimately become a disappointing season for the Mountaineers.

This Saturday, West Virginia will have the opportunity to return the favor to the Cyclones. Iowa State comes in as one of the hottest teams in the nation. They have jumped to ninth in the College Football Playoff standings, and are in prime position to earn a spot to compete for the Big 12 title.

The Mountaineers should march into Ames with revenge in their hearts this Saturday. Last time they were in Jack Trice Stadium, they were simply humiliated. It is now their turn to return the favor, and put the Cyclones back where they belong – being one of the Big 12’s punching bags.
