WVU Will End Today in 2nd Place in the Big 12

A solid start has the Mountaineers with a clear path to Arlington.

Morgantown, WV – Following Oklahoma’s 34-30 win over Texas, there are now only two Big 12 teams remaining that are undefeated in league play. The Sooners, who are now 6-0 overall and 3-0 in Big 12 play, are one of them. The other is someone that nobody would have guessed coming into 2023.

The West Virginia Mountaineers.

Sitting at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in league play, West Virginia will by default end today firmly in second place in the Big 12. This is quite the feat for the team that was picked to finish dead-last by the media during the offseason.

Now, halfway through the season, West Virginia controls their own destiny to reach the Big 12 Championship Game. They will have a chance to continue their path to Arlington when they take on the Houston Cougars next Thursday.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on FS1.
