This morning, Jerry Palm of CBS Sports released his updated bowl projections for the 2020 season. To the surprise of a few, the Mountaineers failed to move in his projections despite a decisive 24-6 win over TCU.
According to Palm, West Virginia will still be invited to take on the UTSA Roadrunners in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on December 26th. The game pins together a Big 12 or ACC opponent against a pool-pick from the Group of Five.
WVU last played in this bowl in 2017 against Utah, when it was formerly named the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl. The Mountaineers lost to the Utes, 30-14, without the services of injured Will Grier.
