MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Earlier today, it was revealed that AMIR JENKINS is in Morgantown, West Virgina on an official visit! Jenkins, a 6’2 guard from Worcester, Massachusetts, is the #1 player in the state of Massachusetts in the 2026 recruiting class, but he could potentially re-classify for the 2025 class. He’s currently the #72 ranked overall player in the nation and the #7 ranked point guard in this class.

Jenkins posted several photos of himself in West Virginia gear today and appeared to be really enjoying his stay in Morgantown. Head coach Ross Hodge and his staff also hosted Oklahoma State guard Arturo Dean over the last couple of days. It’s unlikely that Hodge will be able to sign both players, but Dean is visiting his hometown Miami Hurricanes today and Jenkins is clearly the top choice if West Virginia had the choice between the two.

Jenkins has offers from Boston College, East Carolina, Maryland, Providence, USF and many others, and he will likely hear from several other top programs in the coming weeks. However, he is on campus in Morgantown, West Virginia right now and Ross Hodge would be wise to do everything in his power to lock in a commitment before he leaves town.

Jenkins recently told ZagsBlog what he’s looking for in a head coach: “I just want it to feel like home,” he said. “A coach that’s always going to be confident with his players, never bringing them down. I’m very coachable, so a little yelling at me isn’t going to bring my confidence down, but I’m just saying to like keep it family. Keep the confidence up of your players.”

West Virginia’s current roster includes Jasper Floyd, Treysen Eaglestaff, Jackson Fields, Jayden Forsysthe, Honor Huff, Brenen Lorient, Chance Moore, Harlan Obioha, Abraham Oyeadier, DJ Thomas, Morris Ugusuk and today’s addition of walk-on Michael “MJ” Feenane.
