MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — West Virginia will get back one of its top defensive players next season! Aubrey Burks, a junior safety from Oakridge, Florida, has been the subject of several rumors since the Mountaineers’ final regular season game, indicating he could be leaving the West Virginia football program and entering the transfer portal.
However, moments ago, Country Roads Trust announced that Burks will be back in the Old Gold and Blue in 2024!

This season as the team’s starting safety, Burks had 44 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 1 interception for the Mountaineers, and is expected to be a key part of the West Virginia defense next year!
