Bowl Projection Has WVU Taking on MAC Team

Latest bowl projections have the Mountaineers against a Group of Five opponent.

Morgantown, WV – Sitting with an 8-4 record, the West Virginia Mountaineers are awaiting their bowl destination. Many projections have started to roll in, and the latest from Brett McMurphy has WVU going against a Group of Five team.

Action Network has West Virginia in the Birmingham Bowl against the Toledo Rockets out of the Mid-American Conference.

The Rockets, who are ranked 23rd in the nation, take on Miami (Ohio) tomorrow in the MAC Championship Game. This would make the second time in WVU’s last three bowl games that they did not take on a Power Five school.
