MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, the West Virginia football program got outstanding news when star running back announced that he is committed to Country Roads Trust in 2024 and will be in the Mountaineers’ backfield again next season!
Donaldson, a sophomore from Miami, Florida, rushed 171 times for 798 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, and had 526 yards on 87 carries as a freshman in 2022. Freshman phenom Jahiem White has already said that he will return, so the Mountaineers will have one of the top backfields in the Big 12 Conference next season.
In addition to Donaldson returning, Jacolby Spells, a sophomore defensive back from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, also announced that he is committed to The Country Roads Trust for 2024 and will play for the Mountaineers next season. Spells added depth in the secondary last season for West Virginia and is expected to earn even more playing time for the upcoming season.
