Clint Trickett and Marshall Part Ways

Former WVU Quarterback Clint Trickett has been fired as Marshall’s offensive coordinator.

Huntington, WV – Following a season that saw Marshall’s offense struggle mightily, Head Coach Charles Huff has made the decision to cut ties with some of his staff.

According to FootballScoop, Offensive Coordinator Clint Trickett is one of the unlucky souls who will be part of the exodus from the Herd.

The offense was easily Marshall’s biggest weakness. En route to a 6-6 finish, the Herd posted roughly 23 points, 134 rushing yards, and 223 passing yards per game to go along with 28 total turnovers.

That’s not going to get it done in FBS College Football.

Trickett will now be looking for work, and will likely find it as a position coach. He has previously served as a tight ends and quarterbacks coach for East Mississippi C.C., Florida Atlantic, and Marshall, respectively.
