Current Odds to Become West Virginia’s Next Head Coach

West Virginia is in the process of searching for its next head coach to replace Bob Huggins after he resigned over the weekend.  

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — West Virginia is in the midst of searching for a replacement for Bob Huggins and according to Curry Hicks Sage, the “foremost unaffiliated expert on college basketball coaching searches”, current UAB head coach Andy Kennedy.

Kennedy, 55, is a former assistant under Bob Huggins and a close friend of West Virginia’s former head coach, and there is reportedly mutual interest between Kennedy and West Virginia University.

Kennedy currently has the best odds to take over for the Mountaineers with +475 odds. Pat Kelsey, the current head coach at College of Charleston is in second with +600 odds. Jerrod Calhoun, another former Huggins’ assistant (at West Virginia) and the current Youngstown State head coach has the 3rd best odds at +650. Ben McCollum, considered to be Wren Baker’s top choice and the current head coach at Northwest Missouri State, has +900 odds, according to Curry Hicks Sage.
