Houston Head Coach Dana Holgorsen shared some bold predictions about the future of the Cougars.
Houston, TX – Dana Holgorsen is no stranger to hot takes. This was no different when he took the stage at the 2023 Big 12 Media Days representing the Houston Cougars.

Pete Thamel of ESPN had the opportunity to talk to Holgorsen, and this is what he had to say about the future of the Houston Cougars in the Big 12.
“I think 5 to 10 years from now, Houston could be the premier Big 12 program. It is going to take some time like that. It’s something we’ve wanted as an institution for a very long time, and we have a chance to put our best foot forward to the point we can get there.”
Not only is Holgorsen confident in what Houston could do in the near future, but he thinks the Cougars could take the place as the prominent program in the Big 12.
To accomplish this feat, however, Holgorsen is going to have to do much better in recruiting for the Cougars moving forward. According to 247Sports, Houston currently ranks 81st in the nation in recruiting for 2024.
