Legendary Broadcaster Dick Vitale recommends a qualified interim replacement for Bob Huggins.
Morgantown, WV – The West Virginia Mountaineer Men’s Basketball program has found itself in some turmoil. Bob Huggins, who was the head coach since 2007, has resigned following his DUI arrest on Friday night. With a national search for his replacement now underway, many analysts have thrown out names they think would be the right man for the job.
Dick Vitale, a legendary broadcaster for ESPN, shared his choice to be the interim replacement via Twitter.
A guy with all kind of head coaching big time experience who would be super during the 1 yr @WVUhoops waiting period to make a final decision would be @TomCrean

Former Indiana Head Coach Tom Crean was Vitale’s choice to be a placeholder for the Mountaineers while they evaluate a long-term solution. Given his resume, he may be a solid candidate to fill the void.
Crean has compiled a 403-366 record throughout his career, and even has a Final Four appearance under his belt.
However, we seriously doubt that the Mountaineers will show any interest in him.
