MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, the West Virginia Mountaineers landed a huge recruit for the future when KELVIN ODIH announced that he has committed to play at WVU!
Odih, a 6´4 guard from Castaic, California, chose West Virginia over Rutgers, Colorado, Creighton, Marquette, Florida State, Louisville, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Texas A&M and many others.
On his committment, Odih said the following: ¨I´m big on family. They showed they really wanted me there. The fans in Morgantown are getting a winner, a dawg, someone is coming to get the program back to where it needs to be.¨
Odih ranks as high as the No. 53 player in the 2025 cycle per On3. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the 75th-ranked prospect in the class.
According to the Director and Head Coach at SoCal Academy in Los Angeles, California, Odih ¨continues to make a strong case for another rise in the national rankings. Makes winning play after winning play. Freak athlete that puts pressure on the rim. Odih is an elite on ball defender and rebounder. Makes plays off the bounce as well as off the ball.”

Odih spent the first two years of his high school career with Providence La Salle. As a sophomore, he was named the 2022-23 MaxPreps Rhode Island High School Basketball Player of the Year, averaging 19.1 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game.
This is a huge get for new head coach Darian DeVries and the Mountaineers coaching staff!
In addition, Odih´s teammate, TRENT MACLEAN, received a scholarship offer from West Virginia yesterday. MacLean, a 6´9 forward, is also a four star recruit and could potentially follow his teammate to the mountains of West Virginia. Stay tuned…!
