After Marshall parted ways with head coach Doc Holliday, WVU offensive coordinator Gerad Parker was listed as a potential replacement for him in Huntington. However, it now appears that he will no longer get a look from the Herd.

Per multiple sources, Marshall has narrowed their coaching search list to only three candidates, with Parker not being one of them. Instead, Charles Huff from Alabama, Dwayne Ledford from Louisville, and Brad Lambert, Marshall’s defensive coordinator, are the list of candidates to fill Holliday’s position.

Parker has never held a permanent head coaching position, but went 0-6 as Purdue’s interim head coach in 2016. He had also held various coaching positions at Penn State, Duke, and even Marshall, where he was the wide receivers coach in 2011 and 2012.
