Morgantown, WV – West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez won big when running back Jahiem White decided to return to Morgantown for his third season. Following the departure of Neal Brown, and even Chad Scott, White could have easily entered the NCAA Transfer Portal in search of greener pastures. Instead, the Pennsylvania native will give it a go in Rodriguez’s up-tempo, run-oriented offense.

White has received a plethora of attention over the last two seasons for his skill set. Going into 2025, this has garnered him recognition as one of the best running backs in all of college football.

Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus has tabbed White as the 10th best running back in the entire nation.

Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus also doubled down on the potential of White during the upcoming season.

“With CJ Donaldson off to Ohio State, Jahiem White is the horse in this offense and could be in for a huge year.”

White has shared the backfield with C.J. Donaldson over the last two seasons. Due to this, his numbers have not been as inflated as they could potentially be. Now, as Wasserman points out, he will be the leader of the offense this fall. If he can stay healthy, fans should expect a huge jump for White in 2025.

During his career, White has accumulated 1,686 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns on 257 carries. He has also added 24 receptions for 247 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
