UPDATE: Jesse Edwards is dressed and currently warming up with the team, and could be in the lineup today against the Kansas Jayhawks! Stay tuned for this developing story!

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — The West Virginia Mountaineers (6-11, 1-3 in the Big 12 Conference) have had a very difficult start to the season, but they will finally be back at full strength in the coming days as starting center Jesse Edwards is expected to return to the lineup very soon.

According to multiple sources, Edwards, a 6’11 senior from Amsterdam, Netherlands, is expected to dress for the Mountaineers today but is not expected to play against the Kansas Jayhawks. However, Edwards practiced yesterday and is making remarkable progress after having surgery and could be back in the lineup as soon as Tuesday, January 23rd against UCF in Orlando, Florida.

Edwards, who is averaging 14.8 points and 8.7 rebounds a game for the Mountaineers this season, has not play since he was injured on December 16. West Virginia has a lot of work to do to get into postseason play this year, but with Edwards back in the lineup and the roster fully together, this is a very talented team that can make some noise and perhaps a late season run.
