MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Earlier today, West Virginia head coach appeared on MetroNews’ Statewide Talkline with Hopy Kercheval, and Brown was asked about returning to coach the Mountaineers next season.
“Do you expect to be the head coach at WVU next year,” Kercheval asked. Brown responded by saying, “God willing.”

Brown continued: “I’m very confident in our growth of our program and where we are going, and yes, I do expect to be here.” Brown added, “My family and I have enjoyed our time at West Virginia…we want to see this through.”
West Virginia’s director of athletics, Wren Baker, said prior to the start of the season that he will determine Brown’s future after the season. He has not made any public announcement, but Brown is expected to return to the Mountaineers’ sideline next year.
