West Virginia Native Commits to Play for the Mountaineers

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — The West Virginia Mountaineers have landed a preferred walk on committment from the #1 quarterback in the state of West Virginia, Abe Fenwick.

Fenwick, a 6’3 quarterback from Charleston, West Virginia and is a three star recruit according to 247 Sports. He is the 104th ranked quarterback in the nation in the 2024 class and is the 6th overall ranked recruit in the state of West Virginia. Fenwick had offers from Massachusetts, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh and West Virginia, among others.

Fenwick has led George Washington High School this season, passing for 2,014 yards on 121/208 with 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

We recently asked Fenwick how he would feel playing for the Mountaineers and he said the following: “Every kid in West Virginia dreams of that and I would love the chance.”
