New Lines Project Mountaineers to Lose Big in Happy Valley

The Mountaineers will be taking on Penn State on September 2nd as a heavy underdog.

Morgantown, WV – The West Virginia Mountaineers will open their 2023 football season on September 2nd with a road trip to take on Penn State. With the Nittany Lions fresh off of a Rose Bowl victory over Utah, many will expect them them to roll over Neal Brown’s struggling program.

Betting lines have recently been updated for College Football’s slate of opening weekend games, and it appears to show much of the same consensus for WVU-Penn State.

The Nittany Lions should win handily.

According to Circa Sports, Penn State will be a 20-point favorite over the Mountaineers.

This will be the first time since 1992 that West Virginia and Penn State have met on the gridiron. The Nittany Lions dominate the series with a 48-9-2 advantage.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. on September 2nd. The game will broadcast on NBC.
