RUMOR: Top WVU Defensive Player Being Pursued By Another University

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Last night, multiple posts made by social media account Huddy Tuddy Szn, who has been wildly accurate in his recent predictions concerning the West Virginia football program, revealed that a member of the Mountaineers football team is perhaps being tampered with by an SEC program and could leave West Virginia following the bowl game.

According to the rumor, starting safety Aubrey Burks, a 5’11 junior safety from Oakridge, Florida, and one of the top defensive players on the West Virginia roster, has been contacted by a staff member from Ole Miss. This staff member, according to Huddy Tuddy Szn, is Wes Neighbors, the Safeties Coach at Ole Miss.

If true, this would be a massive loss for the West Virginia defense and would signal that tampering is essentially allowed in college athletics. Burks is not in the transfer portal yet and a coach from another university reaching out to discuss him potentially transferring there would be an obvious example of tampering.

To make matters worse, it appears that Burks confirmed the rumor by “liking” two messages that seemed to point that there is some real smoke to this fire. Burks “liked” the posts that “A defensive starter will play his last game with WVU in the bowl game and then go portaling” and “I think Aubrey Burks gone after the bowl.”
