Update on WVU’s Quarterback Situation

WVU Quarterback Garrett Greene can play today “if needed.”

Morgantown, WV – Earlier today, Pete Thamel of ESPN reported that WVU Quarterback Nicco Marchiol would be making his first career start today against Texas Tech. While Garrett Greene was limited in practice, his final fate for today’s game was to be decided in warmups.

Well, it now appears that the Mountaineers have a plan going into today’s Big 12 opener.

According to Brett McMurphy of Stadium, Greene will be available today in an “emergency” situation for the Mountaineers. This would mean that he could be the backup quarterback should Nicco Marchiol be injured against the Red Raiders.
