Week Ten Big 12 Predictions

We are approaching the final stretch of the regular season in the Big 12. This season has been nothing short of chaotic for the conference, and we expect much of the same this week.

Here are our week ten Big 12 predictions:

  • West Virginia at Texas, Noon on ABC:
The last time WVU was in Austin it was pure excitement. Will Grier’s two-point conversion with only seconds left lifted the Mountaineers to a 42-41 victory over the Longhorns. While Saturday’s contest should be a good game, it likely will not be that memorable. The Mountaineers will once again keep it close going into the fourth quarter, just as they did in 2019, but Sam Ehlinger and the Longhorns will prevail. West Virginia looks good, but just not good enough.
    Texas 28, WVU 24
  • Kansas at Oklahoma, Noon on ESPN2:
This one isn’t even worth my time.
    Oklahoma 66, Kansas 7
  • Texas Tech at TCU, 3:30 on FS1:
TCU pounded Baylor for the majority of the game last week, but let the Bears back in it towards the end. This week, they will be taking on the Red Raiders who are coming off of a blowout loss to the Oklahoma Sooners. Matt Wells’ bunch will be mad, and looking to get back on track. I am just not sold on TCU’s offense, and I think Henry Colombi can win the quarterback duel against Max Duggan. Give me the Red Raiders in a defensive struggle.
    Texas Tech 27, TCU 21
  • Oklahoma State at Kansas State, 4 on FOX:
Both of these teams are coming off of a loss, and are hoping to salvage their once incredible seasons. The key to beating Kansas State is limiting big plays on special teams. If they break a long kickoff return here, they could make it a game. If not, it could be a long day. I think the Cowboys buckle down, and Will Howard once again shows his true freshman colors against one of the best defenses in the conference.
Oklahoma State 31, Kansas State 14
  • Baylor at Iowa State, 7 on FS1:
Baylor has shown flashes, but for the most part the Bears have disappointed this season. However, this game has the potential to be a solid one. Though Iowa State has been good in Big 12 play, they have been somewhat unimpressive sometimes. I expect this one to be close, but the Cyclones pull away at the end.
    Iowa State 23, Baylor 14
