West Virginia Loses Must-Win Game Against Oklahoma

Morgantown, West Virginia – In a game that West Virginia (13-6) absolutely needed to win, the Mountaineers dropped their fourth game of the season, losing 72-62 to the Oklahoma Sooners (13-7).

West Virginia struggled offensively throughout the game, shooting 37.5% from the field and 25.0% from three point range. The Mountaineers were led by Gabe Osabuohien, who finished with 17 points and 4 rebounds off the bench. Jalen Bridges had 12 points and 6 rebounds and Taz Sherman added 11 points.

Brothers Tanner (21 points, 6 rebounds) and Jacob (12 points, 4 rebound) Groves led the Sooners.

With the loss, West Virginia falls to 2-5 in the Big 12 Conference with an incredibly difficult schedule remaining. The Mountaineers will be back in action on Saturday, January 29th at 2:00PM at Arkansas to play the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas is currently 15-5 overall, 11-2 at home and 5-3 in the SEC Conference.
