West Virginia Player Enters the Transfer Portal

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, Davis Mallinger announced on his social media acccount that he is leaving the West Virginia football program and entering the transfer portal.

Mallinger, a 6’1 redshirt sophomore from Melbourne, Florida, moved to wide receiver this year after playing Spear and on special teams last season. In 2022, Mallinger was a Academic All Big 12 Conference Second Team and played in eight games, starting 4 of those games. He finished with 26 tackles, including 18 solo stops and two sacks.

In his message, entitled “To New Beginnings!”, Mallinger thanked the West Virginia football staff for the incredible opportunities they gave him and said that he was excited to be entering the transfer portal.
