West Virginia Texas Tech EXPERT Predictions

Lubbock, Texas – The West Virginia Mountaineers, 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12 Conference, travel to play the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 1-3 and 0-3 in conference play.

The game will be played at 5:30PM and will will air live on ESPN2. Here’s how our experts think this very important Big 12 Conference game will go:

Clark Johnson, Football Analyst, The Voice of Motown (4-0 this season):

Here it is – the moment of truth.  West Virginia to win this game.  If not, we’re looking at yet another season around .500.  I think Neal Brown has his troops ready for revenge today.

The 38-17 beat down last season was bad, and many of these players still have an awful taste in their mouth from it. Jarret Doege comes up big, and the defense does their job.

Hank Steinmiller, Writer, The Voice of Motown (4-0 this season):

Texas Tech has run-and-gunned all year. They struggle against competent defenses. WVU will prove this week that this defense is in fact for real.Henry Colombi will run into some trouble. Jarret Doege will take advantage of this with 2 TD passes. West Virginia keep climbing.

Brad Smith, Senior Writer/Owner, The Voice of Motown (2-2 on the season):

Neal Brown will continue to lean on Leddie Brown, an improved offensive line, a dominant defense and an incredibly conservative game strategy.

If West Virginia starts this game like they did last week against Kansas, they won’t win in Lubbock. However, if the Mountaineers can manage to make few mistakes and limit turnovers, this game won’t be close.

I like West Virginia to win a really strong, fundamentally-sound, grind-it-out game. The Mountaineers defense will continue to cause problems and Leddie Brown is simply too good for the Texas Tech defense.
