Wade, who will coach McNeese State in their opening round game of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, has accumulated a 49-8 record with Cowboys. He has also spent time at LSU and VCU among others.
If he was the top candidate for the Mountaineers, West Virginia will now have to go back to the drawing board. Stay tuned to The Voice of Motown for coaching updates.
