Bowl Projection Has WVU Faced Against Brown’s Former Team

WVU will be eagerly awaiting their bowl opponent over the next two weeks.

Morgantown, WV – It’s almost the most wonderful time of the year.

No, not Christmas – bowl season!

The West Virginia Mountaineers are set to make their return to the postseason after securing eligibility all the way back on November 4th. Outlets all across the nation have been rather scattered when it comes to where and who the Mountaineers will be playing, but latest projections have provided easily the most intriguing potential matchup.

Mark Schlabach of ESPN projects that WVU will take on Neal Brown’s former team, the Troy Trojans, in the Autozone Liberty Bowl. This would mark the first time that the Mountaineers and Trojans have met on the gridiron.

Brown spent four seasons as the head coach of Troy, compiling a record of 35-16.

While it wouldn’t be a very attractive opponent to many fans, this game would bring a lot of intrigue given the circumstances.

WVU will find out their bowl fate on December 3rd.
