WVU Quarterback Garrett Greene finished week one as the highest graded offensive player on the team, according to Pro Football Focus.

Morgantown, WV – While WVU’s trip to Penn State may have ended in a loss, there were quite a few bright spots that the team can take with them moving forward. One of those bright spots was Quarterback Garrett Greene.

Greene, who is a redshirt junior, earned his third career start for the Mountaineers on Saturday. After completing 16 of 27 passes for 167 yards, and tallying 71 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown on the ground, the Tallahassee, Florida native was graded as the team’s best offensive player by Pro Football Focus.

Greene received a grade of 80.0, easily the highest of his career as a starter.

Garrett Greene will have an opportunity to build on his impressive start as the Mountaineers return home to take on Duquesne this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
