Morgantown, WV – Heading into the 2023 College Football season, the consensus surrounding WVU Football is that Garrett Greene will be the program’s starting quarterback. Despite being locked in a battle with Nicco Marchiol, Greene has outperformed him ever single step of the way since spring ball.
247Sports recently revealed their rankings for all starting quarterbacks at the Power Five level. Greene, who started the final two games of the 2022 season for WVU, was ranked dead-last at 69th.

The outlet did not give an explanation for his ranking, but the lack of starting experience was likely a persuading factor.
Being ranked dead-last in offseason and preseason rankings is nothing new for Greene and WVU as the Mountaineers were picked to finish 14th in the Big 12 in 2023.
West Virginia kicks off their 2023 season on September 2nd at Penn State. Kickoff is set for 7:30 on NBC.
