Jarret Doege Set to Start CFL Game

Former WVU Quarterback Jarret Doege has been tabbed to start for the Edmonton Elks of the CFL.

CANADA – Former WVU Quarterback Jarret Doege’s professional career is off to a fast start. After being used primarily as a backup in the first three games, the Lubbock, Texas native has officially been tabbed as the starting quarterback for the Edmonton Elks of the CFL.

The news was officially announced today by the Elks via social media. Doege earned his first game action last week in a 43-31 loss to Toronto. In mop-up duty, he completed 9-of-11 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns to one interception. His highlight of the game was on the Elks’ final touchdown which Doege completed while taking a monster hit.

The Elks take on the Ottawa Redblacks tomorrow at 7:30.
