Kobe Johnson Enters the Transfer Portal

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Earlier today, West Virginia guard Jeremiah Bembry entered the transfer portal. Over the last couple of weeks, Kerr Kriisa, Pat Suemnick and Seth Wilson also left the Mountaineers’ basketball program following Darian DeVries’ hiring as head coach.

Now, moments ago, long-time WVU player Kobe Johnson also made the decision to leave the program and enter the transfer portal, according to Portal Updates. Johnson, a 6’3 guard from Canton, Ohio, averaged 6.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while starting 26 out of 31 games for the Mountaineers last season.

Johnson was named the Ohio Division I Player of the Year by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association as a senior in high school, averaging 20.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
