Morgantown, West Virginia – Moments ago, West Virginia Director of Athletics Shane Lyons spoke on The Jock on 1340AM and of course the topic of conference realignment was the major topic of discussion.
“It’s all been in the news and we’re looking at various options for West Virginia University and we will make comments when it’s appropriate. We’re monitoring it and are going to do what’s best for West Virginia University.”
Although Lyons couldn’t go in-depth about the talks, he wanted West Virginia fans to know that he’s going to do everything in his power to do whatever is best for the school and the state.
During the interview, Oklahoma and Texas released a statement and both officially informed the Big 12 Conference of their intentions to leave for the SEC, despite the Big 12’s attempts at keeping them.
