The “Bring Bob Back” Movement Has Started

Bob Huggins, West Virginia’s legendary former head coach, was fired over the weekend. Now, a petition has started to “Bring Bob Back.”

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Many West Virginia fans and supporters feel that Bob Huggins was treated unfairly following his DUI arrest and forced resignation from the university.

A petition on was started yesterday called “Bring Bob Back” in an attempt to collect as many signatures as possible to inspire change and potentially bring Bob Huggins back as the head coach of the Mountaineers. At the time of this article being published, 2,944 people have signed the petition.

Petition organizer Ross Rob had the following to say in his petition:

Coach Bob Huggins is a legendary figure in the world of college basketball. He has led the West Virginia University (WVU) Mountaineers to numerous victories and accolades during his tenure as head coach. However, he was recently let go by the university, much to the dismay of fans and players alike.

We believe that Coach Huggins deserves another chance to lead WVU Basketball. His track record speaks for itself – he has won over 900 games in his career, including multiple conference championships and Final Four appearances. He has also produced countless NBA players and helped develop young men into successful adults.

The decision to let go of Coach Huggins was made without consulting the fans or alumni of WVU Basketball. We believe that this was a mistake, as Coach Huggins is beloved by many in our community and beyond.

We urge the administration at WVU to reconsider their decision and bring back Coach Huggins as head coach of our beloved basketball program. With his leadership, we are confident that we can once again compete at the highest level and bring pride back to our university.

Please sign this petition if you agree that Coach Bob Huggins should be reinstated as head coach of WVU Basketball. Together, we can make our voices heard and show our support for one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history!”
