UPDATES on Akok Akok

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — During tonight’s charity exhibition game against George Mason, West Virginia starting forward Akok Akok collapsed on the court while making his way back to the bench. Emergency personnel rushed to his aid and after approximately 10 minutes on the floor, Akok was taken off the court on a stretcher.

West Virginia basketball’s official social media account provided an update moments ago, saying, “Akok Akok suffered a medical emergency during the second half of tonight’s charity exhibition game. He was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for further observation. More information will be provided when available.”

In addition to the update from West Virginia basketball’s social media account, Akok’s close friend and former West Virginia player Jose Perez said on his account that Akok “has a heart condition”, which makes the situation even more scary. Please continue to pray for Akok!
