Former WVU Quarterback Jarret Doege is making noise early on in the CFL.
Morgantown, WV – Just in case you did not know, former WVU Quarterback Jarret Doege has landed on his feet professionally in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Prior to April’s NFL Draft, Doege signed with the Edmonton Elks, ultimately seeing the writing on the wall that he would not have a future in American football.
Today, Doege saw his first action of the season in a 43-31 Elks loss to the Toronto Argonauts. Completing 9 of 11 pass, he compiled 163 yards and 2 touchdown passes to one interception.
The well-traveled former Mountaineer saved his best play for last in a miraculous effort to put some final points on the board.

While evading pressure and taking a massive hit at the end, Doege completed an 84-yard touchdown with less than 10-seconds left. Though this did not make much of a difference in the final score, it proves that Doege is ready for the professional stage.
