West Virginia Gets Victory Over Toledo at Home

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — The West Virginia Mountaineers were up 45-33 at halftime and withstood a comeback in the second half to hang on to beat the Toledo Rockets, 91-81 to move to 5-7 on the season.

The Mountaineers were led by an outstanding performance from senior guard RaeQuan Battle, who had 22 points in the first half and finished the game with 29 points and 2 rebounds. Point guard Kerr Kriisa had a double-double, finishing with 12 points and 10 assists, and Quinn Slazinski added 14 points and 3 assists. Akok Akok had his best game at West Virginia with 9 points and 12 rebounds. Noah Farrakhan put together another nice game, finishing with 12 points and 4 assists.

The Mountaineers are back in action on Saturday, December 30 against Ohio State in Cleveland, Ohio. West Virginia will then play at #3 ranked Houston on January 6th before starting the Big 12 Conference schedule at home against Kansas State on January 9th.
